Nkwanta South Municipal Assembly Hands Over 2,540 Desks to Improve Learning in Schools

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nkwanta South, Hon. Joseph Awal Antwi, has officially handed over 2,540 school desks to the Nkwanta South Municipal Education Directorate for distribution to basic and second-cycle schools across the municipality.

The consignment comprises dual desks, mono desks, and hexagonal desks, carefully procured to address the growing furniture needs in schools and improve classroom conditions for learners.


The presentation underscores the Assembly's unwavering commitment to strengthening educational infrastructure and ensuring that every child has access to a comfortable and conducive learning environment.

Speaking during the handing-over ceremony, Hon. Joseph Awal Antwi emphasized that education remains one of the Assembly's key development priorities. He noted that providing adequate classroom furniture is essential to promoting effective teaching and learning, as it enables students to study in comfort and with greater concentration.

The MCE explained that the initiative forms part of the Assembly's broader efforts to improve the quality of education within the municipality by addressing challenges associated with inadequate classroom furniture in many schools.


Receiving the desks on behalf of the Education Directorate, officials expressed their appreciation to the Municipal Assembly for the timely intervention. They assured the Assembly that the desks would be distributed equitably to beneficiary schools based on their furniture needs, ensuring that learners across the municipality benefit from the initiative.

The provision of the 2,540 desks is expected to significantly reduce the furniture deficit in schools, improve classroom organization, and create a more conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning.
