The Ghana Enterprise Agency, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation in collaboration with the Business Advisory Center (BAC) of the Nkwanta South Municipal Assembly organized a skill training program for selected participants in the municipality under the Business in a Box Program, focusing on the Agribusiness Entrepreneurship component.
The training which commenced on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 and ended on Friday, August 21, 2026 at the Pensioners' Hall was aimed at adding value to products produced locally within the municipality. For this session, cereals — rice, maize, soybeans, and guinea corn (sorghum) — were selected as the focus, with participants trained on how to produce tom brown, soya kebab, and soya milk.
The organizers were hopeful that participants will put into practice the skills acquired at the workshop, ultimately creating jobs and boosting local enterprise. The products were made available for visitors at the closing ceremony to taste.
The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Mahama Musah Sensau, in his closing remark at the closing ceremony on Friday, August 21, 2026, expressed hope that the skills acquired would be put to good use by the participants in order to improve their economic conditions.
He hinted at an upcoming skills training program to be sponsored by the Gulf of Guinea Northern Regions Social Cohesion (SOCCO ) program funded by the World Bank/IDA credit to the Government of Ghana, set to begin in September 2026.
Mr. Sensau, advised the participants not to hesitate whenever they face any challenge in implementing the skills acquired, but rather to reach out to the Business Advisory Center (BAC) for assistance, assuring them that the Assembly remains available to support
