Hon. Joseph Awal Antwi, Municipal Chief Executive for Nkwanta South, has reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery by pledging enhanced logistics and improved working conditions for healthcare workers across the municipality.
The assurance was given during the Municipal Health Directorate’s half-year performance review meeting, led by Municipal Health Director, Mr. Evans Attivor. The meeting reviewed the performance of the health sector, identified key challenges, and explored practical strategies to improve healthcare service delivery. Together, we remain committed to building a stronger and more resilient healthcare system for the people of Nkwanta South.
During the meeting, Municipal Health Director Mr. Evans Attivor outlined some of the difficulties that have affected healthcare delivery in the municipality, particularly the disruptions caused by periods of unrest, which had driven some health workers away from their posts.
He praised the MCE for stepping in to help restore calm, noting that this intervention made it possible for health workers to return and resume serving the community.
Mr. Attivor also called on the Minister of Health, Mr. Mintah Akandoh, to speed up the deployment of additional professional health workers to the municipality.
According to him, the half-year performance review pointed to notable gains in professionalism and quality of service delivery, though he emphasized that more logistical support and the renovation of several CHPS compounds and health facilities remain necessary to further strengthen healthcare in the area.
