The Nkwanta South Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon.
Joseph Antwi, embarked on a three-day community engagement tour of selected
communities in the Nkwanta South Municipality, running from Tuesday, July 14 to
Thursday, July 16, 2026.
On the first day, the MCE and his entourage visited four communities — Kabiti, Dawa Akura, Portripor, and Alege Akura — where he interacted with the chiefs and people, listening to their development needs and briefing them on plans to address those concerns.
The following day, the MCE and his entourage visited Jumbo
1, New Agou, Bonakye, and Bonakye Asuogya. He engaged with the chiefs and
people of the area, listening to their pressing developmental needs and
assuring them of his continued efforts to address outstanding concerns. In
turn, the chiefs expressed appreciation for the visit and commended ongoing
development projects in their communities, including CHIPS compounds and school
blocks currently under construction.
The MCE rounded off his tour with visits to Agou Junction, Nyambong Junction, Dogo Ketewa, Nyame Bekyere, and Kabre Akura on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
Representatives of the chiefs and people in these communities presented their developmental needs, to which the MCE responded accordingly. A common request across the communities on the final day was for improved network access, with residents explaining that they often struggle to make calls or browse the internet and must travel to specific locations to get a signal. The second major request was for the extension of electricity, following the recent expansion of these communities.
The MCE informed the gathering that the Member of Parliament
for the area, Hon. Geoffrey Kini, has worked to secure nine (9) network masts
for installation in areas within the constituency, raising hopes that most
communities will soon gain network coverage.
The three-day engagement forms part of ongoing efforts to ensure that development at the grassroots level reflects the real needs of the people.
