The Nkwanta South Municipal Education Directorate has organized a capacity-building workshop for Headteachers and School Improvement Support Officers (SISOs) on Monday, August 03, 2026, to equip them with the knowledge and skills required for the successful implementation of the 2026 School Selection and Placement Exercise. The workshop was facilitated by the Municipal Examinations Officer, Mr. Prince S. Amponsah, who took participants through the official school selection procedures, placement guidelines, and other critical issues to consider when assisting Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates during the selection process. He emphasized the need for participants to provide accurate information and appropriate guidance to ensure candidates make informed decisions regarding their senior high school choices.
Addressing the participants, the Municipal Director of Education, Mr. Jonathan Korsinah, urged Headteachers and SISOs to conduct the exercise with fairness, professionalism, and strict adherence to the Ghana Education Service guidelines. He stressed the importance of offering objective advice to both learners and parents, enabling every candidate to select schools based on informed choices and individual aspirations.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Nkwanta South, Hon. Joseph Awal Antwi, also addressed the gathering and underscored the importance of promoting educational institutions within the municipality. He encouraged participants to highlight the excellent academic opportunities available in the municipality’s senior high schools and inspire learners to consider enrolling locally, while respecting each candidate’s right to make a well-informed decision.
The workshop forms part of ongoing efforts by the Nkwanta South Municipal Education Directorate to ensure a transparent, efficient, and learner-centered school selection and placement process, ultimately contributing to improved educational outcomes across the municipality.
