August 2026 — The Most Rev. Simon Kofi Appiah has met with community members
from Keri at the office of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) to advocate for
peace, unity and reconciliation among the various groups in the community.
During the engagement, Most Rev. Appiah called on the different tribal groups in Keri to put aside their differences and reunite as one people, as they did in the past. He emphasized the need to rebuild trust, strengthen relationships and work together to restore the peaceful coexistence that previously characterized the community.
He urged community members to
embrace dialogue, mutual understanding and reconciliation as the foundation for
restoring peace and harmony in Keri. He noted that unity among the various
groups would be essential to creating a safe environment and promoting the
development and wellbeing of the community.
The Most Rev. Simon Kofi Appiah
further encouraged community leaders, elders, youth and residents to take an
active role in promoting peace. He appealed to all stakeholders to prioritize
reconciliation and the collective interests of Keri over differences that could
further divide the community.
Adding his voice to the call for peace, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Joseph Awal Antwi, emphasized that retaliation would not help the people of Keri to develop. He urged residents to reject acts of revenge and instead pursue peaceful means of resolving disagreements and rebuilding relationships.
The MCE called on the people of
Keri to unite as one people and work together towards restoring peace and
creating an environment conducive to development. He stressed that sustainable
development could only be achieved when residents live and work together in
peace, trust and cooperation.
The engagement forms part of
broader efforts by stakeholders to promote lasting peace, reconciliation and
social cohesion among the people of Keri. The call for unity by the Most Rev.
Simon Kofi Appiah and the MCE is expected to encourage community members to
work collectively towards restoring harmony and securing a peaceful and
prosperous future for Keri.
