The Ghana Armed Forces contingent operating in Nkwanta and its surrounding communities organized a free health screening exercise for residents on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at the Pensioners' Hall. The day-long event recorded a massive turnout, with residents from Nkwanta and its environs screened for various health conditions.
Medical personnel on site conducted screenings for a range of health conditions, and those diagnosed with certain conditions were provided with medications on the spot, ensuring immediate access to care for the affected residents.
Beyond the health screening, the event also served as a platform for public education. Staff of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) used the opportunity to sensitize attendees on the work of the Commission, encouraging residents to reach out to the NCCE whenever the need arises.
Military nurses on site also took the opportunity to educate the public on malaria and typhoid fever, taking attendees through healthy practices that can help prevent these conditions and promote healthier living within the community.
Several beneficiaries of the free health screening were interviewed by our media team. They expressed appreciation to the Military for the timely intervention of the exercise, noting that everyone who came was attended to.
The initiative reflects the continued collaboration between the Ghana Armed Forces, local health institutions, and the Nkwanta Municipal Assembly in promoting access to healthcare and public health awareness, underscoring the shared commitment to the wellbeing of residents in the Municipality.
