Welcome to Nkwanta South Municipal Assembly.
The Nkwanta South Municipal Assembly serves as the highest administrative and political authority in the municipality, responsible for coordinating development planning, implementing government policies, and delivering essential services to our communities. Our mandate is to promote sustainable development, improve the quality of life of residents, and ensure effective local governance through transparent and accountable leadership.
Nkwanta South is located in the Oti Region of Ghana and was carved out of the former Kete-Krachi District in 1989 as the Nkwanta District Assembly. Following the creation of the Nkwanta North District in 2008, the Assembly was restructured under Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 1892 and renamed the Nkwanta South District Assembly. Over the years, the Assembly has continued to strengthen its institutional capacity to support local development and inclusive governance.
The Assembly works closely with traditional authorities, community leaders, civil society organizations, and development partners to implement programmes that support infrastructure development, education, health services, agriculture, sanitation, and local economic growth. Through these partnerships, we aim to create opportunities that empower our people and promote sustainable livelihoods across the municipality.
This website has been designed to provide the public with access to important information about the Assembly, including our programmes, services, projects, and development initiatives. It also serves as a platform to promote transparency, public engagement, and improved communication between the Assembly and the citizens we serve.
